the bronzed beasts broke me and i will never recover

author: roshani chokshi published: 21 september 2021 genre: fantasy, young adult, historical fiction

roshani chokshi certainly did not disappoint with the last book of the gilded wolves trilogy. the ending of the silvered serpents had me on the edge of my seat, wanting to know more about what would happen to the gang. the start of the bronzed beasts was amazing. It all felt uncertain; i had no idea how everything would get resolved.

séverin, laila, enrique, hypnos and zofia were definitely my favourite part of this book. i loved the development of their relationships as well as their own; i really liked the insight into the backstories of séverin, laila, enrique and zofia. however, i do have to say that this book needed much more hypnos. after three books we still know almost nothing about him and i wish roshani had explored his character much more. hypnos’s struggle with his identity and not knowing he belonged could have added much more depth to the story, it was disappointing to see his arc thrown away for the sake of the other character’s development. The pacing was also an issue for me, it felt rushed at times and i wanted to read much more about the characters and how their relationship had been affected by what transpired at the end of the silvered serpents

the ending was beautiful and despite a few problems, it wrapped up the trilogy nicely and gave séverin, laila, enrique, zofia and hypnos a nice ending. i enjoyed reading this book a lot and I would totally recommend the gilded wolves trilogy. roshani chokshi did an amazing job. i can’t wait for this book to release so everyone has a chance to read it.
